Project for establishing generally accepted quality criteria, tools and methods as well as scenarios and situations for the release of highly automated driving functions.

Keypoints

Goal of the joint project PEGASUS is the development of generally accepted methods and tools for the validation of highly automated car functions. This lays the foundation for the market release of highly automated cars.

For this, in a first step, preliminary work for assessing the performance level of automated-driving functions (e.g. definition of an “average driver” as a standard of comparison) is performed, from which quality criteria can be derived.

Based on this, the project shall develop test methods, test catalogues and test instruments for simulation-based, lab-based and field-based approaches. Thereby, PEGASUS shall provide a reference for the efficient validation of highly automated driving functions
