Trilateral EU-US-Japan WG on Automation in Road Transportation – Meeting 22 July 2016
The Trilateral WG on Automation in Road Transport (ART) met in the summer of 2016 on 22 July, following the Automated Vehicles Symposium taking place in San Francisco.
The meeting started off with updates from the three regions: Japan, the United States and Europe.
The afternoon session gave place to more interactive discussion on topics for co-operation such as: impact assessment, digital infrastructure, human factors, road worthiness and cyber security.
Dr Flament pretested updates and activities from the European side, giving a short updates on activities both EU-funded and national and highlighting the accomplishment and works of EU member states in the work of deploying automated vehicles (view the presentation here). In addition, he also gave a brief introduction to the the upcoming project, CARTRE (see presentation here)
VRA – Vehicle and Road Automation is a support action funded by the European Union to create a collaboration network of experts and stakeholders working on deployment of automated vehicles and its related infrastructure.
